Queenie, Blaine ...
We
finally have a digital camera so I can send you pictures of Queenie. My husband
LOVES to take pictures of her. Actually he takes pictures of only her - she's
his only subject.
In
these pictures she's snoozing. I read that terriers are generally very hyper,
but this one's favorite activity is sleeping on the couch. But not just on the
plain ole' couch, she has to be on top of a soft blanket or cushion. I can see
why you guys named her Queenie. She likes to be pampered but we don't mind at
all!
This
year Queenie went on a couple of more trips (after her trip to Boston in July).
She went with us by car to San Francisco and by plane to Houston for the holidays
this year. She was a well behaved guest at all locations, although she is sometimes
still a little apprehensive around male strangers. But she is getting better.
My family in Houston doted on her and I had to keep my little cousins from feeding
her every little morsel of food they could find. My parents have a large fenced
yard so she was able to run around without a leash. Since we live in West L.A.,
she doesn't usually get that kind of freedom, even the parks around here usually
require her to stay leashed.
We
still haven't taken her to the groomers. We kind of like her a bit fuzzy. We
think it gives her character. We have received a few comments on her "look"
being a little less than glamorous, but we just ignore them. We love our little
furry bundle the way she is.
She's
been to the vet again in November to have her shots updated. It was her first
"official" annual vet visit and she received a clean bill of health.
She'd been earlier this year after we first adopted her just to make sure she
was okay, and also before she flew with us to Boston to get the requisite paperwork.
Thanks
again for letting us have the little Queen. She's incredibly sweet and we're
absolutely enamored with her.
Sincerely,
Amy C. [Jan. 18, 2002]
Blaine,
now named Buster, is adopting very well to his new home and siblings. All our
pups seem to be getting along with each other and they seem to be exchanging
war stories over cookies and vitamins. Buster was also diagnosed with Arthritis
and a little hip problem, so long walks are going to be hard on the poor guy.
Nonetheless, we will be purchasing a wagon for him and we will pull him along
on our journeys, as we don't want him to miss out on a single thing! Thank you
so much for allowing Buster to come into our home and become a "Spivey".
Enjoy the attached picture of our kids, in order of appearance,
Buster(blaine), Barnaby and Bernice(amy).
Sincerely, Jill, Dan, Paco, Barnaby, Bernice and Buster Spivey!
Update!
Its been a wonderful week with Buster. He
is such a joy and we are very lucky to have him as part of our family. Today
the pups went to a doggie spa and all of them received a bath and stuff. Buster
also got a massage and that really seemed to help his legs. Attached is a picture
of the pups fresh out of the spa with their matching bandanas and our parrot
"supervising" them. Also attached is a picture of Buster and his wheels.
He really enjoys his wagon. We wagon him down to the park everyday and he is
lifted out of the wagon and walks around the park until he is tired. He tries
very hard to keep up with Barnaby and Bernice, and they even wait for him
sometimes.
I hope all is well at the B&B and we will keep the pictures coming!
Thanks and take care, Jill, Dan, Paco, Barnaby, Bernice and Buster Spivey [Jan.
